What do you mean with "the better part of [your] adult life"? Maybe you spent this time much better than all the others. What could be more important than finding your destination? But I understand what you mean. I feel like I got stuck or caught in this eternal search and everybody around is happy and contented. I can't even imagine myself being contented. Right now it's very rough. I hope you will find what you're looking for. My impression is that you're a good guy, though I don't know you. (please excuse my linguistic mistakes)
